TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said he would insure state airports and ports as suggested by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
“We will implement it if that what the policy is. We will follow the finance minister's [instruction],” said Budi at Lemhanas building, Thursday, October 4.
Previously, Sri Mulyani stated she planned to make insurance for state buildings starting from Finance Ministry's building in 2019 as the pilot project. The plan was made considering Indonesia commonly suffer the natural disaster.

Budi said only several airport and port buildings would be guaranteed. According to him, such insurance was only familiar with private buildings thus far.
Minister Budi explained buildings managed by the government was not insured because no regulation on the matter has yet been issued. Thus, if the policy released, the transportation ministry would comply with the law.

Budi Karya would allocate the insurance fund in the 2019 Draft State Budget (RAPBN). He hoped the House of Representatives (DPR) would accept the budget proposal. Otherwise, he would take anticipative measures.
