Jokowi Expects Asian Para Games to be On Par with the Asian Games

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is hoping that the spirit and success of the 2018 Asian Games could be replicated in the 2018 Asian Para Games during a meeting specially held to discuss the event’s development on Tuesday.
“I ask for the momentum of the Asian Games to be obtained again in the Asian Para Games,” said the president.
Jokowi expressed his intention to successfully hold anything that is related to the games’ main event, the games’ proceedings, up to its closing ceremony.
“I ask INAPGOC, state ministers, agency leaders to collectively monitor the development and preparation of the Para Games,” said Jokowi who urged stakeholders to band together upon providing the best services for athletes and team officials that come from every Asian country.
The Asian Para Games meeting was attended by Minister Puan Maharani, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, M. Nasir, Budi Karya Sumadi, Rudiantara, Indonesian National Police Chief Tito Karnavian, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister Sri Mulyani, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, and INAPGOC Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari.
