TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - CEO of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta, William P. Sabandar, said the first phase construction of the MRT project had reached 96.5 percent.
“We just need to do the finishing now,” William said at Mall Pacific Place, SCBD, South Jakarta, Saturday, September 29. Some aspects that still need to be worked on include the entrance to the station and the interior.
The first phase of MRT Jakarta construction consists of 13 stations. Seven of them are the elevated stations located in Lebak Bulus, Fatmawati, Cipete Raya, Haji Nawi, Blok A, Blok M, and Sisingamangaraja. Meanwhile, the underground stations are located in Senayan, Istora, Bendungan Hilir, Setiabudi, Dukuh Atas, and Hotel Indonesia Roundabout (Bundaran HI).

William said the test trial would be held in December and the official commercial operation would be started in March 2019. “The test trial will be started from the corridor of Lebak Bulus to Hotel Indonesia Roundabout,” he said.
There will be 16 MRT trains operating. One train consists of six carriages, each of which can carry 325 passengers. The operating hour is from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m.
In total, around 1,950 people can be transported on each trip with an interval every five minutes.
MRT Jakarta has tested its system integration in August. The checking includes the rail, electricity, signal, radio communication control program, control center and the train itself.
