TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The activist of #2019GantiPresiden (change the president in 2019) Neno Warisman and Mardani Ali Sera would be assigned as the deputy chiefs of Prabowo-Sandiaga campaign team. The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS)’s Syuro Council deputy chief Hidayat Nur Wahid confirmed the news.
“Insha Allah, they will be the deputy chiefs of Prabowo-Sandi’s campaign team. It’s been confirmed following several deliberations,” Hidayat told Tempo in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 19.
Hidayat said Sandiaga directly asked Mardani Ali Sera as the strategic official in the campaign team in Jakarta. Meanwhile, Neno was chosen to represent the women. Neno Warisman was recognized as a famous figure who actively participated in various social activities.
Both capabilities that drove the mass of #2019GantiPresiden movement was not the main reason. Even so, Hidayat claimed Neno and Mardani have a high potential to embrace the mass to vote for Prabowo-Sandiaga in the 2019 presidential election.
The issue regarding #2019GantiPresiden movement activists to join in the campaign team was seen by the presence of Neno Warisman in Prabowo-Sandiaga campaign post in Jl. Kertanegara, Jakarta. However, National Mandate Party (PAN) secretary general Eddy Soeparno refuted the issue and claimed her presence was merely a support for the presidential and vice presidential candidate.
The coalition party supporting Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno would finalize the structure of campaign team today, September 19.
Meanwhile, Mardani Ali Sera said he did not acknowledge his appointment as the campaign deputy chief of Prabowo-Sandiaga pair. “I have not heard the information. Ask Pak Imam [PKS president],” he told Tempo.
