TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In a launching event of 2018 Sail Mayo Tambora in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on behalf of President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said rupiah is in a good condition.
“Our rupiah is in good condition. We will support this tourism which is one of the major tourism. We will further strive to promote tourism sector,” said Luhut in a written statement, Sunday, August 9.
Luhut said one million foreign tourist arrival in Indonesia means US$ 1 billion for the state income. Thus he pinned hope in the future the number of tourist visit to the country would further increase.

“The target is 20 million tourists visit because this has a huge positive impact for Indonesia and that [Sail Mayo Tambora] is a great effort which related to maritime affairs,” he added.
2018 Sail Mayo Tambora is the tenth event of the series of Sail Indonesia which was first held in 2009 at Bunaken-Manado. The Coordinating Minister expected the event would mark the start of tourism development in NTB following devastating earthquakes that hit the province.
In the launching event, Luhut signed several inscriptions for Samota Bridge and Mayo Tambora National Park. Many performances were presented during the event among others theatrical drama Tari Tanjung Menangis, Marching Band and Sailing Pass involving 500 boats that sailed from Goa Beach to Labuan Badas.
Other than Luhut Binsar Padjaitan, attended the event were Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, NTB Governor Tuan Guru Bajang Muhammad Zainul Majdi (TGB) and other officials.
