Alibaba CEO, Govt Discuss the Establishment of Jack Ma Institute

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Alibaba Group CEO Jack Ma revealed that he had discussed the establishment of the Jack Ma Institute with several state ministers comprised in President Joko “Jokowi” WIdodo’s ‘Working Cabinet’ in a meeting that took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Jakarta yesterday.
“We will consider it [the establishment of the Jack Ma Institute], which is closely related to human resources development and entrepreneurship,” said Jack Ma after the meeting took place. He also revealed that its detail will be discussed in future visits.

Reports suggest that the discussion talked about the importance of developing domestic internet technology and the digital market. Jack Ma also discussed a way to boost small-to-middle micro businesses among Indonesia’s youth.
Furthermore, discussions related to human resources have risen since President Jokowi’s meeting with Jack Ma at the Bogor Presidential Palace yesterday.
“There are several aspects that emerged in our discussion, firstly, issue regarding talent and human resources,” said Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara in the ministry’s official website.
Minister Rudiantara is driven to transform Indonesia to become a human resources center for regional countries. Considering that talents needed currently mostly come from Banglore, India and other countries.
