TEMPO.CO, Lumajang – A Savanna fire burned the Teletubbies Hill, a natural landscape in the sea of sand or the Mount Bromo caldera on Monday morning, September 3.
The section head of the Region 1 of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park or TNBTS, Sarmin, said that until Monday morning the fire had not been completely extinguished.
“Officers and volunteers are still trying to extinguish the fire. Today, hopefully, it can be extinguished,” Sarmin said on Monday, September 3.

Sarmin could not yet reveal the cause of the fire, which initially only occurred at one point. “But then the fire spread,” he said.
In the wake of the fire, TNBTS authorities closed the area from Jemplang, Malang. But presently the entrance from Jemplang to the Bromo area has been reopened. The forest fire has reportedly raged since Saturday last weekend.
