TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, August 31, will examine former Social Minister Idrus Marham, a suspect on the alleged bribery case in the Riau 1 steam power plant (PLTU) project.
“Today, Idrus Marham will be questioned as a suspect of Riau-1 PLTU project,” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah in a written statement, Friday, August 31.
Other than Idrus, KPK will further probe Eni Saragih, a former member of the House’s Energy Commission. Febri said today's investigation will further explore the meeting and discussions regarding the construction project as well as the partnership scheme.
Febri went on to say that KPK scheduled an examination towards PT Pembangkit Jawa Bali operational director, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity company PLN, Dwi Hartano.
In the Riau-1 PLTU project, KPK has named three suspects, namely Idrus Marham, Eni Saragih, and Johannes B. Kotjo, a shareholder of Blackgold Natural Resources Limited which was a consortium firm that oversaw the project.
KPK suspected Eni Saragih accepted bribe money worth Rp4.8 billion from Johannes to expedite the contract signing of Riau 1 PLTU project. Meanwhile, Idrus Marham allegedly played a role in the process.
