"All of these came from the Court chief's desk," Erintua said.

The KPK held a sting operation on Tuesday, August 28, at the Medan District Court. In addition to Merry Purba and Tamin Sukardi, the KPK also named two other people as suspects; Medan District Court's clerk, Helpandi and Tamin's right-hand man Hadi Setiawan.

The KPK released the Head of Medan District Court, Marsuddin Nainggolan and his deputy Wahyu Prasetyo Wibowo. Both were also arrested during the sting operation but were let go due to lack of incriminating evidence in the alleged bribery for fixing court rulings.
