TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo has again invited entrepreneurs joined in National Economic and Industry Committee (Kein) to the State Palace today, August 28.

Attending the meeting were Kein head Soetrisno Bachir and several members namely Hariyadi Sukamdani, Johnny Darmawan, and Hendri Saparini.

Johnny Darmawan said the committee members discussed on the declining rupiah due to the unstable global economy, starting from trade war until geopolitics. According to them, the issue on rupiah was also due to external factors, among them was the policy issued by the US President Donald Trump.

“[Discussion] about Kein’s opinion towards the issues, we explain the existing problem in the grassroots,” added Kein head Soetrisno at State Palace, Tuesday, August 28.

In the meeting, Johnny said President Jokowi asked for constructive criticism as the input for the government, particularly regarding the unstable global economy and the current account deficit.

Johnny said the government needed innovations to boost the growth of Indonesia's economy. “The policy on people’s business credit (KUR), dollar tightening, mandatory use of Biodiesel 20, are already established. In my opinion, it’s on the right track,” he noted.

Earlier, President Jokowi invited a number of second and third generation of senior conglomerates to the State Palace on Friday, August 24 to talks on the present condition of Indonesia economy.
