TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As part of its effort to support the 2018 Asian Games, PT Transportasi Jakarta will provide free Transjakarta bus services for eight days. People who wishes to watch matches but obstructed because of the odd-even system can use Transjakarta to get to match venues.
"The free services will only available during national holidays and weekends within the Asian Games period," according to Transjakarta Directo Budi Kalowono in a written statement dated Thursday, August 16, 2018.
Budi further explained that during August, the free services will be available on August 1, 19, 22, 25, and 26. Meanwhile, on September, the free services will only available on September 1 and 2. To access the free services, passengers would only have to tap their electronic cards at the entrance gate. “There will be no deposit reduction for the services,” Budi said.
The government has applied the odd-even traffic system, during the 2018 Asian Games. Many claimed that the regulation has hindered people from using the roads, including when they wanted to watch matches.
