TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police (Polri) stated that the disbandment of terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) by the South Jakarta District Court will further facilitate police`s effort in eradicating terrorism in Indonesia.
“This will surely help the police to conduct further actions to identify people that are affiliated with the JAD,” said National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Setyo Wasisto at the National Police Headquarters on Tuesday, July 31.
The panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court today verdict to disband JAD after the group was found to be affiliated with international terrorist group ISIS. “The JAD participated in the acts of public disruption and spread public fear,” said Judge Aris Bawono.
Aris further announced that the court did not find any non-incriminating pieces of evidence to support the JAD group.
Indonesian National Police Spokesman Setyo Wasisto saw the dismantlement of JAD and the validity of Law No. 5/2018 will help police in its attempt to eradicate acts of terrorism.
