TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Transportation Agency head Andri Yansyah said he was currently drafting a Gubernatorial Decree related to the odd-even policy during 2018 Asian Games.
“We are drafting the regulation. God willing, it’ll be issued before August 1,” said Andri in a press conference at Harris Hotel, Tebet, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 26.
Jakarta Traffic Police Directorate deputy chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Nurhandono said the police required the legal standing to issuing a ticket to those violating the odd-even policy. “If the gubernatorial decree is not ready yet, [we] cannot issue a traffic ticket,” he said.

The city administration along with the Jakarta Police and related stakeholders agreed to impose the odd-even policy in capital's eight main roads in a bid to reduce traffic density so as to smooth the route of Asian Games athletes.
The expansion of odd-even policy in South Jakarta was on Jl. HR Rasuna Said, Jl. MT Haryono, Jl. Gatot Subroto, and Jl. Arteri Pondok Indah.
In East Jakarta, the policy would be valid on Jl. DI Panjaitan and Jl. Jend. Ahmad Yani, while in West and North Jakarta was on Jl. S. Parman and Jl. Benyamin Sueb, respectively.
The odd-even policy expansion trials began on July 2-31 for 15 hours starting at 06:00 to 21:00.
