TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chief of Staff of the Presidency Moeldoko met with the House Speaker Fadli Zon on the 2018 Open Government Partnership Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia on Wednesday, July 18. The meeting took place when Moeldoko was invited to a dinner by the Indonesian Ambassador to Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia Yuddy Chrisnandi.

During the meeting, Moeldoko and Fadli Zon exchanged information regarding the various inspirations gained from political practice in Georgia, both from the executive and legislative sides. Both also discussed the domestic political situation.

The discussion between Moeldoko and Fadli Zon was the dynamics of dissent which increasingly warm in society ahead of the 2019 presidential election.

“As long as it is within the reasonable limits of democracy, this situation is considered healthy and we are sure not to cause disunity,” Moeldoko said as quoted from the ksp.go.id page on Wednesday, July 18.

According to Moeldoko, this condition is an indication that people are starting to take a position on political views that are an important part of the state’s maturing process. “KSP heard,” Moeldoko said on his Twitter account @GeneralMoeldoko.

Moeldoko also reminded the message of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi that the political differences in the elections, the presidential election, and the election of legislative members are not to divide the fraternity among all Indonesian citizens.

According to Moeldoko, Indonesia has shown that the 2018 regional elections in 171 provinces and districts can be peaceful and stable.
