TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The management of PT Pertamina Marketing Operation Region (MOR) VIII Maluku-Papua has tapped a distributor to carry out the one-price fuel program in Fayit district, Asmat regency, Papua.
“The one-price fuel distributor in Fayit district has operated since July 2, the shipment by boat from TBBM Merauke takes three days," said Pertamina MOR VIII Marketing's fuel retail manager Fanda Chrismianto in Jayapura on Monday, July 16.

Fanda said the establishment of a distributor in Fayit district was not part of the initial plans. However, he added, the government opted to prioritize development in the area in light of the measles and malnutrition outbreaks that had been classified as health emergency in Asmat.
The existence of a distributor is viewed as significant as later from that location fuel will be channeled to remote locations.

“The vessel has a 76-kiloliter-capacity, but the initial shipping quota of 35 kiloliters of premium fuel and 15 kiloliters of diesel fuel, and until now, the stock has not run out yet,” said Fanda.
“The allocation for the distributor in Fayid district is big enough because it will also distribute fuel to six sub-distributors, whose locations are more remote,” he added.
