TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two men attacked the Indramayu Police resort earlier today at 03:00. After the attackers managed to enter the police headquarters they threw unknown items that are believed to be IEDs or self-made explosives.
This incident was confirmed by Indonesian National Police spokesman Brigadier General Muhammad Iqbal today. “That is true, two unknown men breached the Indramayu Police headquarters,” he said.
Iqbal explained that the incident started when two unknown men on a motorcycle had acted suspiciously that had attracted the attention of police members. Traffic police had even closed the main gates but was not enough since both suspects managed to barge-in.
After the breach, both suspects attacked police personnel and threw a pipe bomb but was able to be handled after police shot the suspects who eventually managed to flee the scene.
The Indramayu Police Chief Adj. Comm. Arif Fajarudin said that the condition of the police station has run as usual but with an increasing number of police members taking guard.
