TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) reported that one of its oil and gas underwater pipes experienced a leak near the Pulau Panjang Bojonegara Island in Banten.
The coordinates of the subaquatic leak is known to be at 05-55-52.S / 106-07-075.E. The leak happened on Monday morning of July 9, at 09:45 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force's (SKKMigas) head of program and communication Wisnu Prabawa Taher also confirmed the news.

“There has been a leak of subsea gas pipeline that streams gas from the Pabelokan CNOOC to Cilegon,” said Wisnu today. He further explained that the SKK Migas was still conducting investigation into the leak.
Wisnu further explained that the leak caused 50 million MMscfd worth of gas supplies to be temporarily stopped. CNOOC has coordinated with the Bojonegoro port operator unit to fix the damaged pipe.

CNOOC have mobilized three ships from Pabelokan in Thousand Islands regency to the site. Reports say that the situation has improved as the volume level of the leak has been reduced.
