TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) communication department executive director Agusman Zainal said based on BI's survey the consumer confidence index (IDCII) rose in June 2018.
“It is reflected on June 2018's IDCCI that scored 128.1, which is higher than the previous month that scored 125.1,” said Agusman on Monday, July 9.
According to Agusman, the second-quarterly IDCCI of 2018 that scored 125.2 was higher than the first quarterly (123.4) and that of the same period last year that scored 124.0.
Agusman argues that the increased consumers’ trust was driven by the improving perception upon the current economic condition and the expectations towards future economic condition.

Indicators of this are evident in the improved current economic condition index (CECI) that scored 4.7 points, which was driven by higher purchase of long-lasting goods index, such as home furniture and electronic devices.
The BI executive director said the poll results indicated there was less pressure towards price increase during the upcoming three months, which was based on the 171.1-point-increase in price expectation index.
