Sandiaga Uno Dazed by Anies` Potential Presidential Candidacy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno conceded that he would most certainly be saddened if Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan leaves him behind to pursue the chance to be presidential candidate in the upcoming 2019 Presidential Election (Pilpres 2019) with Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto.

“This is what forces me into a dilemmatic position. If Gerindra views him as figure of achievements, such as Anies, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and CT,” said Sandiaga Uno at East Jakarta on Saturday, July 7.

Sandiaga followed his statement by moving both of his fists on the both sides of his head, as a gesture of sadness, even though he considers Anies as a suitable candidate for the presidential election.

The 2019 presidential election (Pilpres 2019) process will officially commence on August 2018, which will begin with the registration period. Indonesian opposition party chairman Prabowo Subianto from Gerindra is said to be partnered with Anies Baswedan.

However, as Jakarta’s Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno hopes that Anies Baswedan would complete his task as the Jakarta Governor for the next five years. “I personally hope that Anies Baswedan can work beside me for the next five years,” said the Deputy Governor.
