TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani openly hopes that the upcoming annual IMF-World Bank meeting will continue as planned despite Bali`s current precarious condition following the Mount Agung eruption.
“That is a natural occurrence, we hope that the preparation and implementation can continue as planned,” said Sri Mulyani at the Le Meridien Hotel on Tuesday, July 3.
The IMF-World Bank annual meeting is set to be held from October 8 to 14 in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency in Bali. The meeting is expected to be attended by 17,000 delegations from 189 countries. The meeting will be mainly attended by finance/economic ministers, central bank governors, and people that actively deal with economics.

Indonesia’s preparation to host the prestigious meeting has begun by constructing several infrastructures to eliminate traffic congestion in the vicinity of airports in Kuta and Nusa Dua. Bali’s Ngurah Rai airport will also receive several infrastructure updates to accommodate the delegate’s air transports.
Previously, Mount Agung once again erupted on Monday night at 21:04 central Indonesia time (WITA). The mountain’s two kilometer-high eruption ignited forest fires in some parts of the forest nearby.
