TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) will investigate suspicions of money politics during last week's regional heads elections. A number of community elements reported suspicions of money politics practices during the Lampung regional elections to the Bawaslu.
Rifki Indrawan, the spokesperson for the Lampung Coalition for Clean Elections, said they reported suspicions of money politics practices done in a structured, systematic and massive manner.
"Bawaslu will send their men to Lampung to further investigate the money politics allegations," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 3rd.
Acording to Rifki, the Bawaslu is targeting to study the reports in fourteen days.
Meanwhile, Golkar denied the allegation of money politics, which was accused to them. Golkar supported candidates' pair Arinal Djunaidi and Chisnunia, who won the elections.
Golkar, along with PKB and PAN, will also set up a post for reports of slander directed at Arinal and Chusnunia.
"There have been slanders directed at Arinal and Nunik," Golkar official Abi Hasan Muan said in Bandarlampung, July 1.
He said that several witnesses were approached by other candidates' campaign team and were intimidated to admit that they received money.
Abi also instructed the DPD II Golkar in Lampung to open a complaint post for the witnesses who were intimidated.
