TEMPO.CO, Lombok - A crocodile is reportedly seen in the coastal waters of Nambung, Buwun Mas Village, Sekotong Subdistrict, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The predator animal was spotted on Friday, June 15, and Monday, June 18.

“The emergence of a crocodile is reported by the Head of Bange Village and supported by the information of residents who had taken pictures,” said Head of Buwun Mas Village, Rochidi, in West Lombok, Tuesday, June 19.

Aside from being a fishing ground for fishermen and seaweed planting, Nambung beach is also a popular tourist destination. According to him, the residents worried because their everyday activities are in the seawaters. Not to mention the safety of tourists who are also threatened.

The appearance of the crocodile has been reported to the related party. Rochidi hopes the Natural Resource Conservation Center (BKSDA) of NTB immediately intervened to catch the predators.

"I have coordinated with related parties for arrests and other actions," Rochidi said.

Public Relations BKSDA NTB Ivan Juhanda, claimed to have received no official report, and only know from the media crew.

"According to the picture I received, it seems it was an estuary crocodile. We immediately follow up the information," said Ivan.
