Flight Activities at Soekarno Hatta Increase by 6 Percent

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commercial flight operations at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport saw a 6.49 percent increase during the Eid homecoming season on Tuesday compared to the same period in 2017. 

Soekarno-Hatta’s branch communications and legal senior manager Erwin Revianto said data showed there were up to 1,412 airplanes departing and landing at the airport. 

This means there were 86 airplane activities more than those of 2017 during the same period, which amounted to 1,326 airplane activities. “The trend shows a 6.49 percent increase,” said Erwin.

Domestic airplane activities that arrived on Tuesday, June 19, meanwhile, amounted to 578 airplanes and 135 airplanes for international flights.

The mass-movement of people returning to cities from their hometowns in the Eid homecoming is expected to take place today on June 20 up until the end of the week, considering that the government mass-leave will end on Thursday, June 21.
