TEMPO.CO, Surakarta - During an event of fast-breaking with ex-terrorist convicts on Tuesday, June 12, Surakarta Mayor FX Hadi Rudyatmo asserted he would establish a foundation for those former criminals.

“The foundation will accommodate ex-terrorists in Central Java and Yogyakarta,” said Rudy on Tuesday evening, June 12.

Rudy was determined to empowering the ex-terrorists as to involve them building the city since there were a lot of issues they faced after serving the punishment, particularly on social issues. “We want to reduce the problem to find a right solution,” he added.

The event was attended by former terrorist convicts from Surakarta, Sukoharjo, Karanganyar, Semarang, and Purwokerto. “This is a prelude meeting,” said Rudy, adding there will be further meetings to take place to follow up the plan.

The ex-terrorist spokesman Joko Triharmanto mentioned there were many convicts in Central Java and Yogyakarta.
