TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Physiotherapy Association (IFI) will deploy dozens of internationally certified experts at the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Paragames.
It was said by the IFI Chairman, Period of 2016-2021, Moh. Ali Imron, SMPh, S.Sos, M.Fis, when celebrating IFI's 50th Anniversary in Jakarta, Sunday, June 10.
“Usually, during the sports events, it is very potential for athletes to get injured. In order to avoid mistake handling during injury, IFI has prepared 40 internationally certified experts during the Asian Games and Asian Paragames in the country,” Ali Imron said.
The physiotherapists will be stationed at venues with potentially injured athletes, clinics and at hospitals referenced by the Asian Games and Asian Paragames committees.
Ali Imron said IFI would deploy at least 40 physiotherapists during both events are held.
“IFI experts will be at sports venues, such as soccer, basketball, boxing, and sports with the potential for injury. For sports like bridge or chess, IFI will not put its physiotherapy,” he added.
He explained, ahead of two months of the 2018 Asian Games, the communication between IFI and INASGOC increasingly intensive.
