During the third meeting, Susi invited Sandberg to attend the 2018 Our Ocean Conference that will be held in Bali on October 29 and 30. Minister Sandberg accepted the invitation.
“I hope I can hold a high-level side event to discuss the redefinition of ocean governance during the 2018 OOC, and I hope Minister Sandberg is willing to be the speaker to share his experience related to the Regional fisheries management organizations (RFMOs),” Susi said.
Minister Susi emphasized the importance of the ocean governance discussion in high sea, especially regarding transshipment and ocean rights.

“Transshipment in high sea lacks supervision and is susceptible to fisheries crime, human and animal trafficking, and smuggling of protected animals and narcotics,” Susi mentioned. Thus, she called on Minister Sandberg to share information on the transnational organized fisheries crime during the conference.
Minister Sandberg hopes that his visit to Bali will result in the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with Indonesia.
