TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The first section (Section 1) of the Bocimi toll road that connects Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi has been confirmed to be usable for people participating in the 2018 Eid al-Fitr homecoming.

This fact was confirmed by National Police Traffic Corps chief Brig. Gen. Royke Lumowa after he personally supervised the location.

“The Bocimi toll road will be opened for small sized vehicles starting from June 8 at around 06:00 Indonesian Western Time (WIB),” said Royke as quoted from sukabumiupdate.com on Wednesday, June 6.

The first section of the Bocimi toll road is a 15 kilometer-long section that connects Ciawi to Cigombong, Bogor District. Royke added that this section will only be open for 14 days, seven days before Eid al-Fitr and seven days after, but will be limited to light vehicles such as sedans and minivans or MPVs.

Furthermore, Royke added that opening this section of the toll road will enable travelers to save 30 minutes of time, which can be valuable when traffic congestion starts to occur.

Despite many road users that were appreciative of the opening of the first section of the Bocimi toll road, there are some that worry it will add traffic congestion at the toll exit located at the area near Benda, Sukabumi District.
