TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) provides service to exchange rupiah into smaller bills for Eid celebration at the homecoming routes starting on Thursday, June 7.
“Starting tomorrow, there will be money exchange service at the homecoming route,” said Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Rosmaya Hadi when met at Bank Indonesia Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 6.
Rosmaya said BI deploys two to four cars in each BI representative office. She pointed out one of the exchange points is at KM 166 Cirebon. “BI has 46 points of the representative office and all of them will help.”

According to Rosmaya, the money exchange service will be done until D-1 since many people will still travel to their hometowns on that day.
On May 23, Rosmaya said Bank Indonesia, in coordination with 15 banks, has set up 1,000 money exchang points across Indonesia for 2018 Eid al-Fitr.
“In Jabodetabek, there are 160 points in cooperation with 15 banks, but the total is 1,000 points across Indonesia,” Rosmaya said at IRTI Monas Square, Jakarta.
The 15 banks are BNI, Bank Mandiri, BRI, Permata Bank, BNI Syariah, Maybank, BRI Syariah, Bank Mega, Bank CIMB Niaga, Bank Mandiri Syariah, BTN, Bank BJB, Bank DKI and BCA.
