TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gerindra Party deputy chairman Fadli Zon shared his opinion on the recent meeting of honorary chairman of PAN Amien Rais, Gerindra chairman Prabowo Subianto, and Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Shihab in Mecca. Fadli said the initial purpose of the three to Saudi Arabia was to perform umrah pilgrimage.

“The main goal was doing umrah and they had scheduled the meeting,” said Fadli Zon in Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 5.

PAN honorary deputy chairman Drajad Wibowo said there were several agreements resulted from the meeting that Muslim community in Indonesia should intensively gather together. “We have to strengthen our lines because legislative and 2019 presidential election will determine the future of Indonesia,” said Drajad in a short message on Sunday, June 3.

According to Drajad, Prabowo, Amien Rais, and Rizieq Shihab held a closed meeting for an hour for talks of the country’s issues. “There were several things agreed, but sorry I cannot deliver it for public yet,” he said.

Drajad further admitted the meeting agreed to enhance the communication of the four parties namely Gerindra, PAN, PKS, and PBB prior to the elections.
