TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta head of Urban Plantation Management Unit (UPPTP) Yati Sudiharti said that part of the Rp8.1 billion procurement for the city’s plants and decorations are used for the 2018 Asian Games.
“There are some additional requirements this year since the 2018 Asian Games is held this year too,” said Yati at her office on Monday, June 4.
The additional requirement, according to Yati is to redecorate the routes leading to the Asian Games venues and to rejuvenate parks in its vicinity. Other than that, the unit will also decorate the Asian Games ceremonial area that will be introduced in August 18-September 2.
According to Yati’s explanation, the UPPTP was formed in January of 2017. Previously, the procurement and budgeting for plants and decorations were managed by each Forest Services in Jakarta.
“The Rp8.1 billion reflects to each unit’s needs and then it is combined,” said Yati.
Yati explained that after the Asian Games, the UPPTP will start to reduce the number of its procurement since the plant production in the city’s seed garden will surely increase.
