TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Candidate for Central Java Governor Sudirman Said stated that society need to vote for a leader that has never had any ties to legal issues and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the 2018 Central Java Regional Election.

“Vote for a clean candidate, one that has never dealt with the KPK,” said Sudirman in Semarang today, June 5.

He maintained that a leader that has never been involved in corruption can continue to focus on serving the interest of its people in regional areas.

“If the leader is dealing with the KPK, that person can potentially travel back and forth [to KPK headquarters in Jakarta] to provide statements,” said Sudriman Said who maintains that it would affect the person’s ability to serve the public.

KPK’s sting operation that was held in Purbalingga adds a long line of list of regional leaders from Central Java that stumbled by issues regarding corruption. He also stated that only a clean government can bring prosperity for its people.
