TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Environment Service (LH) of Jakarta Isnawa Adji said this year his party purchased 2,640 units of garbage bin from Germany with a total budget of Rp9.581 billion.
The booking of the wheeled garbage bin with the capacity of 660 liters, said Isnawa, was conducted in Germany, not in Indonesia, as an effort to modernize the waste processing in Jakarta.
"The booking aims to modernize and fix the waste processing in Jakarta," said Isnawa when contacted by Tempo on Sunday, June 3.
According to Isnawa, people can throw their garbage into the garbage bin that has been placed in the garbage collection path through the compactor-type garbage truck.
As for garbage collection, which still uses the motorcycle cart, the garbage bin will be placed in the temporary waste disposal site (TPSS).
"When the garbage bin is scheduled to transport, the officer can push the wheeled bin to the location of the compactor truck and link it to its hydraulic latch so that the trash will be lifted into the compactor truck, just like in the developed countries," Isnawa said.
LH service ordered 2,640 garbage bins Weber brand from Germany. The company as an importer in this procurement is PT Groen Indonesia based in Surabaya.
Based on the data from LH Service, each of these garbage bin is purchased for about Rp3.5 million, plus the postage cost from Germany amounting to Rp79.2 million, so the total fund budgeted in this procurement is around Rp9,581 billion.
