TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened today's trade at 6,037.43 or down 0.51 percent (30.89bps) compared to Monday's close, when the index strengthened to close at 6,068.32.
Despite a weak opening, Indosurya Bersinar Sekuritas analyst William Surya Wijaya believes the JCI still has a chance to rebound; moving between 5,845 and 6,123 in today's trade sessions.
"The JCI is working to move towards a better consolidation range amid the rupiah's volatility against the US dollar as well as the commodity price fluctuations," he said on Wednesday, May 30.
William said Indonesia's economy is quite stable and able to support the JCI's climb. In the short-term, the index will also be supported by capital inflows.
On Monday the JCI moved between 5,977.00 and 6,080.51, with 227 out the traded 583 shares gaining prices.
