TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police had questioned five partners of RJ (16), a teenager who threatened to kill President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo in a video footage. “While [his friends] have been quizzed,” said the crimes and violence division chief at the Jakarta Police General Crime Directorate, Adj. Sr. Comr. Jerry Siagian today.
However, Jerry reluctant to detail the examination. The investigators are currently reviewing their testimony which has been noted in the investigation report (BAP).
Jerry stated the police will hold a preliminary hearing on Monday, May 28, to determine the status of the five teenagers. "It’s on Monday," he said.
As previously reported, a video footage went viral showing a teenager threatening to kill Jokowi. The threat was posted on social media account under name @jojo_ismayname.
In the 19-second video, RJ pointed a picture of Jokowi with his left-hand finger while spilling out threatening words. He also challenged Jokowi to meet.
After being examined on May 23, RJ claimed to have no intention to insult Jokowi. The boy, Argo said, considered the video as a funny material which was a challenge from his friends.
RJ was officially charged as the perpetrator. Police did not arrest RJ but placed him in Marsudi Putra Social House owned by Social Affairs Ministry in Cipayung, East Jakarta.
RJ who threatened to kill Jokowi was charged with Article 27 paragraph (3) juncto Article 45 paragraph (3) of Law No. 19/2016 on the amendment of Law No. 11/2008 on ITE with the maximum sentence of six years behind bars.
