TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The specification of Xiaomi Redmi S2 in Indonesia finally revealed after the release on Tuesday, May 22.
With the processor of Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, Xiami Redmi S2 is priced at Rp2.3 million.
Xiaomi Redmi S2 is called as the first selfie-smartphone by Xiaomi. It is launched in Indonesia, Tuesday, May 22. Redmi S2 pinned an advanced 16 megapixel-resolution camera with artificial intelligence feature.
Redmi S2 has an area of 5.99 inches screen with 18:9 ratio. Head of Xiaomi South Pacific Region and Xiaomi Indonesia Country Manager, Steven Shi, said Redmi S2 is specifically intended for the selfie-fans in Indonesia.
“It is undeniable that selfie has become part of the lifestyle of modern society,” said Shi, in South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 22.
In China, Redmi S2 uses a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, which is a middle-class chipset with Adreno 506 graphics.
Previously, the chipset is used on Xiaomi Mi A1. For the operating system, Redmi S2 is pinned with Android Oreo 8.1 with a mix of MIUI 9 user-interface.
In China, Xiaomi provides two options of RAM. Namely, 3GB RAM/32GB internal memory and 4GB RAM/64GB internal memory. Each memory can be expanded by adding microSD.
Xiaomi Redmi S2 is launched in the Indonesian market on May 22.
Shi said, the "S" series from Xiaomi target young people who like to express their expressions with selfie.
“And this is the most complete smartphone for selfie," he said. For security, an artificial intelligence technology in this camera is also used for the face-unlocking.
According to him, the artificial intelligence technology can maximize user needs to selfie. Its camera, he said, can be used in the dark because it uses selfie-light that can create natural light.
The main camera, Redmi S2 brings a 12 megapixel+5 megapixel double camera which also pinned with artificial intelligence.
“The Material wrapped in metallic make this smartphone looks elegant and dashing," said Shi.
He also explained, Xiaomi Redmi S2 uses three card slots, two for SIM Card, one for Micro SD memory that can be upgraded to 256GB.
