TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The organizing committee of the annual Jakarta Fair event will tighten security following the series of terror attacks that had happened across the nation in recent weeks.
Oki Setiawan, general manager of operational at PT JIExpo Kemayoran, said they will receive help from the authorities, with more intelligence personnel added to the security team, including the National Intelligence Agency (BIN).
"By the time the expo opens, we will tighten searches and security measures," he said here on Monday, May 21.
Oki said the committee has been conducting random security checks every day throughout the preparation period. He said that K-9 dogs will also be used to guard entrance areas.
The annual Jakarta Fair exhibition will last 40 days from May 23 to July 1, 2018.
