Traffic Diversion in Monas during Bayt Al-Maqdis Solidarity Act

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police`s Traffic Directorate have prepared traffic engineering during the solidarity rally for Bayt Al-Maqdis today around National Monument or Monas and in front of the U.S. Embassy, Central Jakarta.
“We have set up traffic diversion for road users passing the area,” said the chief of Law Enforcement Sub-directorate at Jakarta Police’s Traffic Directorate in a written statement on Friday, May 11.
At around State Palace and the U.S. Embassy, the police diverted traffic in Jl. Hayam Wuruk heading Jl. Majapahit to the left of Jl. Juanda. While the traffic from Jl. Lapangan Banteng heading Jl. Veteran is diverted to the right of Jl. Pos.

“As for Jl. Gunung Sahari until Jl. Dr. Sutoyo, we order [the vehicles] to go along Jl. Senen Raya and vice versa; [traffic from] Jl. Senen Raya heading Jl. Budi Utomo [diverted] to pass Jl. Gunung Sahari,” said Budiyanto.
Budiyanto further explained vehicles from Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur heading to Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara should pass Jl. Perwira. Meanwhile, the traffic from Senen intersection heading RSPAD should pass Jl. Senen Raya-Wahidin.
Vehicles from Jl. Cikini Raya heading Jl. M. Ridwan Rais is diverted to Jl. Kwitang Raya or from Jl. Kwitang should make a U-turn and return to Jl. Kwitang Raya, and traffic from Jl. Kebun Sirih will be directed to Jl. Kwitang Raya.
Furthermore, the traffic from Jenderal Sudirman to Jl. Medan Mereka Barat will be diverted to Jl. Kebun Sirih. Vehicles from Jl. Abdul Muis is directed to Jl. Harmoni, while from Jl. Abdul Muis heading to Jl. Museum is diverted to Jl. Fachrudin and vice versa.
To help secure the solidarity rally for Bayt al-Maqdis, the National Police deployed 35,000 joint personnel from the National Military Force (TNI). The rally aimed to highlight the Palestine-Israel conflict that is rooted in the struggle for House of the Holiness or Bayt al-Maqdis in Jerusalem.
