TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi delivered his response to the prison riot occurred at Police`s Mobile Brigade headquarter or Mako Brimob, Kelapa Dua, Depok, on Tuesday night, May 8.
Jokowi stated his concern during a press conference accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Polhukam) Wiranto, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, National Armed Forces (TNI) commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Head Budi Gunawan.

“I received a direct report from Polhukam Minister, Police Deputy Chief, TNI commander, BIN head regarding the effort to control the situation and maintain the security in Mako Brimob which ended in good ways,” said Jokowi today in Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java.
The prison riot at Mako Brimob broke out on Tuesday night, May 8, at around 21:00 pm and killed five police officers. They were First Insp. Yudi Raspuji, Adj. Second Insp. Denny Setiadi, Brig. Sandi Setyo Nugroho, First Brig. Syukron Fadhli, and First Brig. Wahyu Catur Pamungkas. Aside from the officers, one terrorist inmate Benny Syamsu Tresno alias Abu Ibrohim who was arrested in October 2017, also died.
