Police Bust Online Prostitution in Massage Parlor in KalibataCity

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police arrested H alias A (31) and M alias R (35) as suspects of online prostitution under the guise of a traditional massage at Kalibata City Apartments. The two were nabbed at the apartment that used for the business.

"They have run the business for a year, H and M acted as the pimp," said Jakarta Police’s Directorate of General Crime Deputy Director Senior Commissioner Ade Ary in his office, Sunday, May 6.

The police revealed they offered online prostitutions covered by 'therapist' using WeChat message app with its radar features. The price ranges from Rp500,000 for one and a half hours. When the transaction was approved by both parties, the customer would be picked up by the ‘therapist’ in the apartment lobby and entered the unit provided by the pimps.

H and M were reported to have employed ten therapists in two shifts of working period, day and night. The work duration starting at 09:00 am until 03:00 pm. From each transaction, the therapist got paid at Rp300,000 and the suspect took the rest which was Rp200,000.

The two suspects were charged with the Article 296 of the Criminal Code with a sentence of one year and four months in prison and Article 506 of one year's imprisonment.
