TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. will release a house ownership credit program or KPR for millennial generations in the near future. It aims to encourage young people to save and have their own home at a young age.

Executive Vice President of Consumer Loans of Bank Mandiri Ignatius Susatyo Wijoyo said its target market is the young generation, who has monthly income in accordance with provincial minimum wage (UMP) plus Rp1 million to Rp2 million.

"Millennial generations can have their own homes, that would be cool, investing should start from as early as possible," Susatyo said when met at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan on Saturday, May 5.

With their income, said Susatyo, young people can apply for credit of a house worth Rp500 million with a tenor of 10 to 15 years. The tiered installment considers the potential increase in revenue over time.

"Their salary will not be the same, it must be increasing, that potential, we consider," he said.

In addition to KPR, Bank Mandiri will also work with the government in preparing the housing for the National Army/Police with a 30-year tenure.

As of March 31, Bank Mandiri's KPR distribution has reached Rp40.45 trillion, increasing 11.11 percent compared to March 2017. Until the end of this year, Bank Mandiri targets the double-digit mortgage business growth.

"Every year, of course, we have a target to keep increasing," said Susatyo.
