TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Vice President of Iran for Women and Family Affairs Masoumeh Ebtekar stated that her country Iran is interested to strengthen economic partnership with Indonesia by making an investment since the last five years the partnership run smoothly.
In a sideline event of the High-Level Consultation of World Muslim Scholars on Wasatyyat Islam in Bogor, Tuesday, May 1, Ebtekar said Iran has prepared many plans for the partnerships with Indonesia on several sectors including energy, tourism, trade, social, culture, and scholars exchange.
“Both countries have shared the knowledge on women, studies on women’s experience of each country, how we learn from each other, and how we hand-in-hand improve the social-economy towards women,” said Ebtekar.
Ebtekar further touched on the importance of both countries in building a partnership to enforce wassatiyyat Islam [moderate in Islam] in a bid to prevent extremities and radicalism. She mentioned Iranian government has called on all countries to fight against extremism to bring peace, particularly Islamic countries.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, May 1, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo officially welcomed the Vice President of Iran. It was reported in that bilateral meeting, President Jokowi discussed women empowerment in every sector.
