TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) has earmarked Rp165 billion, or 2.5 percent from all the funds it has collected so far, to promote the 2018 Asian Games.
“It’s around 2.5 percent from Rp6.6 trillion,” said INASGOC head Erick Thohir after attending a coordination meeting at the Coordinating Human Development and Culture Ministry in Jakarta on Monday, April 30.
Erick said all the ministries and government institutions had agreed on working on collective endeavors to promote the 2018 Asian Games. “We will synchronize the promotions for the Asian Games, which were previously run separately, and now everything will be in unison,” he said.

Erick said each ministry had its own budget to promote the Asian Games in various media, while INASGOC would allocate some Rp10-15 billion from the total Rp800 billion it had acquired from multiple sponsors.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, meanwhile, explained the government would begin promoting the Asian Games in various media—both digital and conventional—on May 10, or 100 days prior to the opening of the 2018 Asian Games.
“We are ready with the promotions for the 2018 Asian Games, and we expect that [the Asian Games] will become euphoria and the people will feel involved in the Asian Games,” he said.
