TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State electricity company PLN operates a 150 kilovolt (kV) substation with a 2x60 Megavolt Ampere (MVA) transformer to supply power for a smelter in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi.
General Manager of PLN South Sulawesi, Southeast, and West Bambang Yusuf said a smelter had applied for 150 million VA power in Bantaeng.
"In the first phase, PLN supplies 40 megawatts (MW) for the Huadia Nickel-Alloy Indonesia smelter. The factory is still in the process of completion. So once [it is] completed, PLN electricity is ready to be installed," said Bambang on Wednesday, April 25.
He said currently Bantaeng Substation is ready to serve the smelter industry this year.
Bantaeng Substation that runs electricity from Jeneponto and Punagaya power plants, asserts that PLN is ready to welcome investors by providing electricity facilities in South Sulawesi.
"The availability of power supply for South Sulawesi System is sufficient and adequate, so PLN supports the investors who want to invest in South Sulawesi," said Bambang.
