Yesterday, Vice President Jusuf Kalla appealed to the public not to worry much about the rupiah setback. He said that this is caused by external factors, and other Asian countries are also experiencing currency depreciations.
"As explained by Bank Indonesia, almost all currencies in Asia weakened against the US dollar. Investment funds are returning to America, causing Asian currencies to weaken. It all happens due to external factors. We shouldn’t worry too much," Kalla said at the Vice President's office on Tuesday, April 24.
