TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia offers the 'Wonderful Journey' tour package to 15,000 delegates of the 2018 Annual Meetings International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group (AM IMF-WBG) that will be held in October 2018.
The promotion for the exclusive package was conducted by the Ministry of Tourism since October 2017. Another promotion was done at the 2018 IMF-WBG Spring Meeting held at World Bank Headquarters in Washington DC, USA, on April 16 until April 22, 2018.
"In addition to promoting and direct selling the tour packages by tour operators, there were attractions of batik and the presentation of Indonesian coffee," said Deputy of Marketing Development II of the Tourism Ministry Nia Niscaya in a written statement on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
The Wonderful Journey tour package consists of 60 tour packages to seven leading tourist destinations in Indonesia, namely Bali, Lombok, Yogyakarta, Banyuwangi, Toba, Tana Toraja, Komodo-Flores, and Sumba.
The exclusive package is expected to encourage delegates of the IMF and World Bank to stay longer in Indonesia.
"This is also an attempt to capture the opportunity to promote Indonesian tourism in the MICE market segment [Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition/Event]," said Nia.
