Try These 5 Tourist Destinations during Homecoming Trip by Train

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) began to sell additional train tickets for Eid holiday today, April 16. Additional trains are provided due to the high demand for the homecoming.
The train has become a favorable mode of transportation for the homecomers due to its faster travel time and affordable price. In addition, a lot of interesting places were traversed by the train routes so you can transit for a while before continuing your trip, such as:
1. Cirebon
Cirebon is the first stop when you travel by train from Jakarta to Kutoarjo, Yogyakarta, or Surabaya.
The Kasepuhan Palace is just 1.8 kilometers from Kotabaru Cirebon Station. You can also visit Kanoman Palace located behind Kanoman Market and Kacirebonan Palace located adjacent to the two previous palaces.

2. Purwokerto
In Purwokerto, the famous tourist attraction is Baturaden. It is located 14 kilometers from Purwokerto Station, a 20-minute drive. You can enjoy the fresh air at its waterfalls or at the foot of Mount Slamet while eating local famous dishes; fried getuk and tempe kemul.
3. Yogyakarta
In Yogyakarta, you can shop at Bringharjo Market or Malioboro where batik and handicraft were offered at a fairly cheap price. It is located right next to Yogyakarta Station.
You can also explore the city history at the Sultan Palace located right next to Malioboro Market. For culinary tourism, you can taste a variety of local dishes such as wedan ronde, jos coffee, wedang uwuh, nasi kucing at the angkringan (street diner), gudeg, and bakpia.
4. Solo
Solo is known for its culinary. At night, you can try the liwet rice in Keprabon Kulon, near the Surakarta Palace, while at noon, the city offers tengkleng, kupat tahu, sate kere, and many others.

5. Madiun
Madiun is known as the city of pecel (mixed vegetables in a peanut sauce dressing). In here, you can find the pecel vendors scattered on the streets.
It feels special because it is served on banana leaves. Besides tasting the authentic pecel, you can also buy its unique sauce.
