TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) has decided to apply the odd-even policy on Jagorawi toll road.
"Not only on Jagorawi, starting on April 16, [we] will also test [the policy] on Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road," said BPJT Chief of the Transportation Ministry Bambang Prihartono on Friday, April 13, 2018.
Bambang said that the policy is intended to lower the toll road's volume to capacity (V/C) ratio to 0.5-0.6 from the current condition of more than 1.0 at certain locations, especially during rush hours.
"A similar policy at Japek [Jakarta-Cikampek] toll road after four weeks evaluation [March 12 to April 6] has reduced the toll road's V/C ratio by 46 percent with an average speed increase of 10 to 20 percent during the time of the policy enforcement at 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM Western Indonesian Time," Bambang said.
The odd-even policy will be implemented on the Jagorawi toll road starting from the Cibubur 2 toll gate heading to Jakarta from 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM Western Indonesia Time every Monday to Friday, except for the national holidays.
