TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Mass Rapid Transit Jakarta (MRT Jakarta) will carry out an integrated testing and commissioning on 13 cars or two MRT train series starting this year.
PT MRT Jakarta president director William Sabandar said the trial's purpose is to check the performance those cars and train lines currently parked at Lebak Bulus depot.
"Later in August, these trains will enter the mainline (rail) to run on existing lines in the depot," William said at Lebak Bulus depot on Thursday, April 12, 2018.
He said that the integrated tests and commissioning is needed to integrate all existing systems; from the construction, tracking systems, signaling and electrical power.
Later, the trains will then be tested one by one to ensure all systems are running perfectly without problems.
William said that his company is targeting for the MRT to start operating in March 2019, as per the request of President Joko Widodo.
