TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tasik Market traders who previously did their businesses on a deconstructed area in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, have moved to a one-hectare area on Jl. Cideng Timur as the deconstructed area, owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia, was sealed by the police.
Based on Tempo observation on Thursday, April 12, 2018, many traders and customers crowded the new area located next to the Cideng gas station since 07:00 AM.
"Yes, we relocated here," said a trader named Hendri to Tempo. The relocation caused traffic congestion along Jl. Cideng Timur to Jl. Jatibaru because most of the traders are yet to settle in.
Other than Jl.Cideng Timur, some of the traders opened their shop around Blok F of Said Naum market, Pharmin Hotel, and Jati Steam Car parking area across the Textile Museum.
The deconstructed area in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta was seen empty and was sealed by a police line. Two signs were placed, noting that the land is owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia and is currently under the investigation of the Police's General Criminal Directorate.
