Anies Baswedan Pays Respect to Late Danarto

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan visited Fatmawati Hospital to pay respect to the late Indonesian writer, Danarto. He passed away due to a severe injury in the back of his head after an accident.

“I got the news at evening,” said Anies Baswedan in Fatmawati Hospital, Tuesday, April 10, adding that the news delivered by his relative. “And other writers also informed me.”

Danarto was said to have an accident at 13:30 while passing the road in front of State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah, Ciputat, South Tangerang. He was taken to UIN Hospital before sent to Fatmawati Hospital.

Anies Baswedan stated he has met the family and relatives of Danarto in the writer’s residence in Pamulang. “He will be carried to Sragen to lie in honor next to his mother’s grave,” said Anies.
